Su voluntad, no la mía...

Photo from digital bible

“SEÑOR, tú me examinas, tú me conoces.

When I decided to leave my plans to God most of them didn´t happened as I expected. Actually, I think that anything this few months have been as I expected, don´t get me wrong, I´m ok with that, because I wasn´t ready for most of the things that I wanted and the dreams that I had and God´s plans are better than mine.

Nothing is impossible for God and I, as a human being, have a limited mind and a short sight. But God sees and know everything. He knows our thoughts and what we want, just like it says on Psalm 139:1-4 NIV

“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.”

I can be praying for something I want in my life, but maybe that is not what God wants for me this doesn´t mean that God will never answer your prayer or make your dreams come true. But he is the one that decides what is best for you and if you are ready for what you´re asking for because he know what is best for us and what we really need.

God makes our wishes to come true, sometimes not the way we expected, or we wanted, but it will be bigger than we imagines because we have a big, great and limitless God. A God that still makes miracles and he shows us his live every day and with every action we make.

God LOVES YOU! And he will never disappoint us leave your plans, your dreams and everything in life on his hands and he will make every dream and prayer come true, It won´t be the way you expect it, some of them will not come true, but he will bring something even bigger and better to your life. Don´t put limits on God, don´t claim anything to him because his ways are perfect, and better than we expected and better than we could ever imagined.

We just have to be patient and wait for God´s timing so we can see all of his plans come true in our lives and also remember to get into action, don´t expect a dream or a prayer to come true by sitting down in the couch all day long.

Also remember to ask always for God´s will and not yours just like Jesus did.

I want to be like... I want to look like...

Every morning when I wake up and I see myself on the mirror I don´t feel satisfied with what I see, the only thing that I see are dark spots on my face, bags under my eyes, and crazy hair. And sometimes I just wish I could be different, without any imperfection, but then I realize that all that imperfection is just what my eyes can see, but I want to know how do I look like trough God´s eyes?

For the society the perfect Woman has to be tall, thin, without any imperfection in her face, a beautiful hair, and has to dress in a provocative way or with the most expensive brands so she can be perfect and beautiful, and be accepted by society. And it´s more than obvious that not all women can be the same or look the same way, because we are all unique and different, but sometimes even though we have heard a lot of times that we are unique, special, beautiful just the way we are, we prefer to go with the idea that we have to look alike with the woman society wants us to be.

But if we open our bible on Proverbs 31:10-30NLT it doesn´t says that a worthy woman has to look like a super model with blonde hair with perfect waves on it, and weighs 90 pounds. It actually says that the worthy woman is a hard worker, trustful, is diligent, she´s brave, is a leader and does not fear for the future. We also can see that it talks about how the worthy woman is dressed, and it says that she is clothed with strength and dignity.

We can also notice that this verse doesn´t describe the way she looks, But it describes the way a worthy woman should be. And if we continue reading Proverbs 31:30 it says “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

So, we can observe how a woman should be and behave. By this moment you should be asking yourself how this is going to make me more beautiful, how this is going to make my bags disappear and how am I going to have a gorgeous hair? The secret is to make yours the word in Proverbs 31:10-30, and apply it in your life, when you start doing this you´re going to reflect beauty, but this time is a different kind of beauty, is a beauty that comes from the inside and it´s going to reflect in the outside.

Now we ask again to ourselves, how do I look like trough God´s eyes? Well, this question is the easiest to answer, to God we are beautiful and one of a kind. He doesn’t look at our physical aspect, he looks at our heart, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t have all the qualities of the worthy woman, God still loves you because you are his daughter. It doesn’t matter how you look like, how your hair is, your height, the size of your nose, the size of your eyes, because God created you that way, to him you are perfect just the way you are.
This doesn’t mean that you don’t have to take care of your personal appearance, or stop eating healthy, or doing exercise; remember that we are the temple of God, and we have to take care of the temple in the inside and the outside.

Last but not least, don’t forget what Psalm 139 says, it teaches us how God looks at us and that God has created us in a perfect way. We were wonderfully and fearfully made, His thoughts about us are precious, and they can’t be numbered because they outnumber the grains of sand.

So, for now on, every time we wake up and look at the mirror, let’s remember our virtues and how much God loves us, and that our imperfections won’t be imperfections anymore, because they are what makes us unique and one of a kind.

New year, new me?

New Year, new goals, new expectations and everything is new. We decide to start all over again, and mark the New Year as a new beginning.

I have to admit that I was scared to start this New Year, at this moment everything feels uncertain, and I´m scared to make plans. That everything that I wished or dreamed won´t happen like last year.

But then comes the time when I realize that I can´t stop dreaming or making plans just because I feel scared, I realize that everything that happens in life it’s because God lets it happen. We have to have in mind that the plans that God has for our lives are always good and perfect, just like it says on Jeremiah 29:11. But, that doesn´t mean that we won´t shed some tears or that everything will be easy.

Sometimes the way we have to take to achieve our goals or whatever we want can turn to be a little painful, and we start to feel that we are walking on an endless desert where it seems that there is no hope and instead of seeing that everything gets better it starts to get worst, and we don’t understand why everything has to be so difficult.

On 2015, I lost my dad, I never imagined that 2015 was the year that God was going to call my dad to his presence, well, I don´t think that anyone can imagine that, but it happened, and in that moment I felt that the dessert I was going through was getting bigger and bigger, and I was getting smaller and smaller, all the light was gone, and everything felt darker, and it seemed that God was gone, and that He forgot about me, and that he left my side, even though I know that’s not true.

Because of that, I started to feel scared to start this new year, everything felt so uncertain, I was scared to keep dreaming, and making plans for this new year, I was afraid that that my plans wouldn´t turn the way I wanted to, and that’s when I realized that the plans that God has for my life are perfect, and he knows better than anyone what He´s doing in my life, But I also realized that in order for my plans and dreams to happen I have to grow up, I have to learn, my faith also needs to grow, and sometimes we have to go through a painful process.

And when I made up my mind, I realized that I don´t have to be afraid to make plans, or to dream or make my new year’s resolution. Yes, maybe my dad is not with me anymore to watch me achieve my goals, and see how my dreams come true, but I know that God will always be by my side even though this process turned to be a little painful, God will never leave me alone, he walks by my side in every step I take and his plans for our live is perfect.

I have to Admit that doubt sometimes finds a way to get in my mind, and I feel that God doesn´t listen to me, but then I start to rewind every moment that happened last year and I realize that even in the worst and darkest moments God has been there through all of it, and he never left my side, I know that He is the one that will lead my way to achieve everything in my life.

Let’s never forget that he is a river in the middle of the desert, He´s the one that makes a way in the desert as it says on Isaiah 43:19. He gives us love, and strength to keep walking through that road that leads us to accomplish everything we dreamed of.

So don´t be scared, even though it seems that everything in life goes wrong, remember that God is there for you to helps us, and give us strength to keep walking and be successful in everything we plan, don´t be afraid to dream, and dream big! Because we have a big God, and nothing is impossible for Him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the Bible stories that I have been thinking a lot recently is josephs, a man who had to go through many unpleasant circumstances to get to fulfill the plan that God had for his life.

One day I heard someone said that if Joseph's brothers had a different perspective to Joseph’s dreams, if they had not been jealous, everything would have been better for Joseph. If we think about it, we can realize that everything that happened to Joseph, everything that his brothers did to him, and everything he had to go through while he was a slave, was what led him to fulfill his purpose.

And that's what happens many times in our life, we believe that nothing bad can happen to us if we are with God, and it’s true, nothing can harm us, just if God allows it, we can see the example of Job. And that's what happened to Joseph.
Many times God allows these painful situations to happen in our life to form our character. Because we might be weak in certain areas of our lives and we haven’t even noticed it, but God knows us and He wants us to be strong so anything in this life can make us stumble and fall in the future.

We know and have heard that everything in life has a purpose and that we have a purpose too, but we believe that because we are young we don’t have to be prepared for the future too soon. Being young does not make us free from those painful experiences that we have to go through every day, so we can be stronger and ready to fulfill God's plan for our lives.

Joseph was seventeen years old when he started to tell his dreams, his brothers began to envy him, not just because of the dreams Joseph had, but because Joseph was Jacob’s favorite son. These sounds mean, but in that moment is where those situations begin to fulfill the plan of God for Joseph’s life. Then his brothers threw him into the pit and was sold, and had to work for Potiphar as a slave, and although Joseph went through this, we can see in Genesis 39: 2 that the Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did.

We can realize that despite the tough situation joseph was living, God never left him, and that’s something that we always need to have in mind, just as God was with Joseph at all times he will always be with us too.

As we read Genesis 39, we can see that Potiphar realized that God was with Joseph and that’s why Potiphar gave Joseph complete and total responsibility for his possessions and Joseph no longer had to worry about anything else. Everything seemed to go in the right way until Potiphar's wife accused Joseph, saying he wanted to take advantage of her, even though he didn´t do anything. After that, joseph went to prison.

Sometimes the same thing happens to us, when we do the right things, we might get bad consequences, but God will never leave us alone. Joseph did the right thing, but still was sent to prison, but in Genesis 39:21 we read that the Lord was with Joseph even in prison showing his true love, where it seemed that everything got even worse, God was there with Joseph and never left his side.

In Genesis 41 we read when Joseph was taken out of prison, actually, that was a step forward. Joseph got out of prison, because he had to interpret the Pharaoh's dream. Everything started to get even better, and he even was named as the governor of Egypt. By this time, It didn’t seemed that what was happening to Joseph had a purpose, he now can be seen just like a person who suffered and luckily everything started to get better in his life, but we must remember that the grace, love and  favor of God were always with Joseph.

Then Joseph's brothers go to Egypt to buy grain because they needed food, we can see there that the seven years of abundance have passed and they were now in the years of scarcity, to Joseph everything seemed fine, but he never imagined that he would see his brothers again. And we know how this story ends.

The story has a happy ending, and his brothers are sent to call Jacob to come with all their possessions. At the end Joseph became a big blessing to his brothers because he was used by God to provide food for his family, but this was all God's plan, God used Joseph not only to help their brothers but to bring the Israelites to Egypt too.

But for all this to happen, he had to undergo painful and unjust situations that were necessary to fulfill the plan that God had for Joseph’s life. So if you are going through a difficult situation, do not worry, do not despair, fix your eyes on Christ, use those moments to make sure that your faith on God grows, learn to see the glory of God in the midst of these difficult times and always be confident that God has a master plan for your life, and that process sometimes can be painful but God will always be with you.

Ahora vete, y no vuelvas a pecar”.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In John 8:1-11 (NIV) we can read the story of the woman that was found in the act of adultery. It says in John 8:10-11: "10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, — Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? 11 —No one, sir, she said. — Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. — Go now and leave your life of sin.

We all have sinned in our lives, and that makes us feel bad and guilty; then we pray and ask God to forgive our sins, and he does; suddenly we start to feel happy, in peace, and thankful with God, because He doesn´t make us feel guilty anymore.

Then we start to feel guilty again, we start to think that we are bad, that we don´t deserve God´s forgiveness, and we start to be dramatic even though God doesn´t condemn us anymore. We start to feel bad because we begin to think or to do the same bad things we used to do. Sometimes it seems like we are so used to be the way we were before God forgave us, and it starts to feel like a vicious cycle. This, most of the time, happens because our minds are empty, we are not even thinking, or doing something productive with it.

In those moments Satan takes the time to make us feel guilty, and that makes us sin again with our bad thoughts, and it starts to feel like we are walking backwards instead of forward.

Like I mentioned before, we can see the example of this woman in John 8:1-11, Jesus asks the woman if someone condemns her, she says 'no', and Jesus answers 'neither do I condemn you'. That’s the same with us, once God forgives us, He doesn´t condemn us anymore, He forgets our past, our sin, and he doesn´t remember them anymore; even if we fall again God lifts us up. We have to remember that God is not our toy, just because God forgives us every time we fail and sin, it doesn´t mean that we can do the same thing all over again, and make the same mistakes again and again.

Jesus didn´t condemn the woman, He forgave her, but he clearly said: 'Go now and leave your life of sin.'

I know sometimes it’s very difficult to leave in the past the bad things we did, it´s difficult to change our bad habits, and to stop feeling guilty; it´s hard to ignore the guilt and that bad habit that Satan tries to remind us to make us sin again, but we always have to remember that if GOD is for us, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?  Anyone or anything has the right to make us feel guilty. NO ONE has the right to put in our mind bad thoughts because God brings peace to our heart and mind just like it is said in Philippians 4:7.

So keep moving forward without feeling guilty of what you did in the past because God does not condemn us. Let’s avoid sin, and if bad thoughts or thoughts of guilt come to our mind, we don´t have to forget that the peace of god keeps our heart, and our mind; don´t feel discouraged, because God has everything under control, God is with you, and he fights the battle for you. God loves you, and he has made you a conqueror.

In Matthew 22:21 (NIV) Jesus said " If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

But, many times we use the word of God just for our convenience, we read what we like, and when we read something that we don´t like, we ignore it, and pretend, that the verse we just read wasn´t for us, or that it doesn´t even exists.

And, thats one of the reasons we start following Jesus, because we want Him to give us what we ask for, don´t get me wrong here, because, we all started following Jesus because we needed His mercy, His salvation, and so many other reasons. But, sometimes we are used to ask for a lot of things, and because of His mercy, and endless love He gives us the things we ask for. But then there are some times when we ask for something, and God doesn´t give it to us, in those times we get mad, angry, sometimes we even start doubting His existence or His power.

I don´t know if you have seen this picture, frase, or whatever you want to call it, but it says that God has 4 answers for us, yes, no, I have something better, or not yet. I don´t know about you, but i belive this is true. I don´t know what are you asking to God in prayer, what I can tell you is NEVER stop believing in God just because He haven´t answered your prayer yet.

Like I´ve said before on this post, we are so used to see God like someone that just gives us what we want, or like a 'vending machine' and we make the mistake to get mad, because God hasn´t give you what you´ve been asking for. Instead of getting mad with God, take a moment to thank him for everything He has made for you, and given to you. Wait, be patient, keep praying with faith, and if God says 'no', don´t get mad with Him.

God doesn´t say 'no' because He is bad, or mean, He says 'no' because he has something even better, or it is just not the right time to receive what you´re asking for.
